The Calgary Latin American Film Festival (CLAFF) is proud to adopt a decentralized, city-wide model. By partnering with historic and independent neighbourhood cinemas, we increase geographic accessibility and bring cultural programming directly to diverse communities across Calgary.

1. Canyon Meadows Cinema

  • Location: South Calgary

  • Featured Event: Opening Ceremony & Screening of Colibrí (Colombia)

  • Date & Time: May 29, 2026 – 6:00 p.m.

  • About this venue: As part of our mission to reach diverse neighbourhoods, Canyon Meadows Cinema serves as the perfect host for our inaugural ceremony, connecting our festival with audiences in the southern sector of the city.

 

2. Globe Cinema

  • Location: Downtown Calgary

  • Featured Event: Screening of Children of Las Brisas (Venezuela)

  • Date & Time: May 30, 2026 – 7:00 p.m.

  • About this venue: Located in the heart of Calgary’s arts district, Globe Cinema provides a central hub for our mid-festival program, including our moderated Q&A sessions with special guests.

 

3. The Plaza Theatre

  • Location: Kensington (Northwest)

  • Featured Event: Closing Ceremony & Screening of Kept, Brother (Mexico)

  • Date & Time: May 31, 2026 – 5:00 p.m.

  • About this venue: The historic Plaza Theatre in Kensington hosts our final screening. This iconic independent cinema offers the ideal atmosphere for our closing reflections and intercultural dialogue.
